AUSParks

Privacy Policy

This policy explains the types of information AUSParks may collect, how that information is used, and the choices available to members and visitors.

1. Information you provide

AUSParks may collect information that you provide when you create or use an account, submit an activation log, or contact the program.

This may include account details, amateur radio callsign information, and information contained in submitted log files.

2. Activation and QSO data

When a member uploads an ADI, ADIF or CSV log, AUSParks may store information needed to record the activation and valid contacts.

This can include the park reference, activation date, callsigns worked, band, mode, time and other log information required by the AUSParks database.

3. Public program information

AUSParks is a public amateur radio activity program. Some activation information may be displayed publicly on the website, including park references, park names, activator callsigns, activation dates and QSO totals.

Do not submit information in a log that you do not want processed as part of the AUSParks program.

4. How information is used

Information collected by AUSParks may be used to operate member accounts, process log uploads, record activations and QSOs, maintain program statistics, improve the Park Directory, prevent duplicate or invalid submissions, and administer the program.

5. Website and session data

AUSParks may use normal website session technologies that are necessary for features such as login, account security and form protection.

The hosting provider may also generate standard server logs containing technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times and error information.

6. Sharing of information

AUSParks does not sell member information.

Information may be processed by services that are necessary to operate the website, such as the web-hosting provider. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service.

7. Data accuracy

Members are responsible for ensuring that account and log information they submit is accurate. AUSParks may correct or remove data that is clearly incorrect, duplicated, invalid or inconsistent with the Program Rules.

8. Data retention

AUSParks may retain account, activation and QSO information for as long as it is reasonably required to operate and maintain the program's historical record.

Some information may also remain in routine backups for a limited period after it is changed or removed from the live database.

9. Security

AUSParks uses reasonable technical and administrative measures intended to protect the website and its database. However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Members should use a strong, unique password and should not share their account credentials with other people.

10. Access, correction and deletion requests

If you believe information associated with your AUSParks account is incorrect, or you wish to request access, correction or deletion of personal account information, you may contact AUSParks.

Requests involving historical activation or QSO records may need to take account of the integrity of the program's public activity record.

11. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as AUSParks develops or as website features change. The current version published on this page will apply to use of the service.
